Placemat Update | Got Them Quilted, Binding Next

I managed to get further along on my "to do" list diversion. Who needs to take care of the important stuff around the house when there's a quilt project to finish!?!?

I had fun quilting these place mats with one of the stitches on my machine. I've owned this Kenmore for over a year and have only used about 6 of the many included.

Here's the front with a closeup of the stitching.

Here's the back.

I'm trying to decide on a binding. I think maybe a dark brown like I used for the stitching. Maybe it would bring the design out a little more.

Here's a picture of Rowan and baby Brennan fooling around in the den. Brennan gets a kick out of his big brother Rowan.

Happy quilting,

What a terrific fall placemat. Isn't it fun to play with the different stitches? Cute picture of the boys!

I like your quilting on the placemats. Love it when people use their walking foot for quilting. This is the only way I quilt. I never do freehand. Great job.

I had some of that same backing fabric! Only a fat quarter, but loved it.

We don't do placemats here (hubby finds they get in the way), but I'm itching to do another fall tablerunner. Had to get all the fall trimmings out last week and put them around. Now if the cool crisp weather will come on....

Ryan, the placemats look great and the stitching adds so much to them! What darling little fellas you have. Makes me miss the days when my own two boys were that age! :-)

Maybe just a shade or two darker than the brown leaves in that one leaf print? Nice ~ I love the concept of the decorative stitching in lieu of traditional quilting.

Oh, I miss visiting the quilt shops! I had to put myself on restriction. LOL! :)
