Thanks for stopping by on my day for the Sew to Swap book blog tour. I was honored to be asked by author Chrissie Grace to contribute to this swap-inspired book along with 16 other amazing quilters. I'm also excited that I get to tell you a little more about the book today!
I had a great time exchanging fabric and making quilt blocks while getting to know everyone that participated a little more. Swapping at its essence is all about friendship, inspiration, trying new things, etc. and I think Chrissie did a wonderful job capturing that in Sew to Swap. I'm an avid swapper and I participate in dozens of swaps and bees every year. Whether it be embroidery pieces, fat quarters of fabric, mini quilts or simply blocks; I believe swapping is an integral part of where I am today as a quilter.

You'll see many beautiful illustrations scattered throughout the book by Ariel Eldridge along with detailed photos of the quilts we assembled. A unique aspect of the book that we all participated in is a feature called, Ask the Contributors. We were asked a series of questions by Chrissie like, "What's your favorite sewing notion or tool?" and "What's your all-time favorite swap?" Our answers to those and many other questions appear all over the book and once again establishes that "get to know you" aspect of the spirit of the book.

All the participants were asked to contribute to a certain number of swaps and I was fortunate enough to be included in:

As a collaboration between all of us to commemorate the swap, we exchanged signature blocks that were incorporated into this quilt.

The book is broken down into four distinct chapters: Get Ready to Swap, Super Small Swaps, Marvelous Medium Swaps, and Gorgeous Gigantic Swaps, and also discusses topics like basic sewing supplies; choosing fabrics; quilting, pressing, and piecing; backings, borders, and binding. It's an all around great read. Especially for someone who's looking to plan and get involved in quilt swapping.
If you'd like to win a copy of Sew to Swap, please leave a comment on this post letting me know you'd like to win. Feel free to let me know if you've ever participated in a swap and if you had a favorite one you were a part of.
As a bonus I'll even throw in a bag of scraps hand picked from the over flowing scrap tubs I keep in my studio.

Only one entry per person, please. All duplicate entries will be deleted!
I will draw a winner using the Random Number Generator and announce them here in an upcoming post!
If you haven't yet, please feel free to visit the other contributors who participated in the blog tour.

Oh I love the curvy block quilt!
I've done a few swaps. One was a Row Robin Swap, where we each made a row for each swapper. I had fun! Still need to assemble all my rows...
I would love to win! I have done swaps before but they mostly involve yarn!
My name is Kelly and I'm a swap-a-holic! I can't even count how many I've done! This book looks fab!
Please count me in! It looks like amazing book with some amazing quilters! I have participated in several large group swaps, dozens upon dozens of fabric swaps, and am in my first VQB. Hard to choose a favorite when I love every swap I find in my mailbox. ;)
I've never participated in a swap- sounds like fun! All I ever do is swap little silly projects with a friend of mine back home.
And thanks for sending along some scraps! I've seen the fabrics you use- that'd be a real treat!
I would love to win a copy of your book! I have participated in one swap before and it was lots of fun. We each did a house for one month out of the year. The December blocks were trimmed with Christmas decorations, October had Halloween and so on. That was a long time ago. I'm ready to do another one and have just the group of friends who would be in! =)
Can I just say Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!!! ??
My hand is in the air, I love the scraps I love the book. I can barely contain my excitement!! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!
I have never been in a swap but I would love to be! I would also love to win this book!!!
I have never done a swap before, but have been looking for one. I'm kinda scared to jump in. Everything I see from swaps is so fantastic I wouldn't want to let my swapee down. I've definitely had my eye on this book and would love to win a copy.
I've only done fabric swaps. Not brave enough yet to actually sew anything for someone else. New Years resolution perhaps? I think a fun swap would be a swap for first timers. Sounds less intimidating. Thanks for the give away chance.
Love swaps and I would certainly love to win this give-away.
I'd love to win!!! I have done three doll quilt swaps and they were each amazing. I pushed myself really hard, wanting to make something "good enough" for my partner, along the way I learned a lot! I treasure the doll quilts I received in the swaps, and sometimes I still smile as I walk by one on the wall.
I am part of the 3x6 and the embroidery bee swaps on Flickr. I love them both! Great give away!
I have never done a swap before, but I'm also pretty new to quilting. I am hoping to jump into my first one soon. :) I love the idea of the signature quilt and was wondering which method you used to transfer the writing to the fabric? Thanks for the great giveaway!
I'd love to win a copy of this book! I am currently participating in my first online swap. It is great fun, and I've signed on for another round. So I could really use some ideas...
I love the idea of a swap quilt. However i havent had the chance to actually do one. Would love to have a look and check out the different swaps.. Thanks for the giveaway. Kath
I participated in a few swaps once upon a time, but it's been quite a while. Love the scrapbuster quilt - need to tackle one of those myself!
I have done a swap but would love to do one. They sound like so much fun.
Oh this book looks so great! I've done a swap and a few bees! It's such a good way to push myself to try new things!
I absolutely love the curvy block quilt!
I've never done a bee or swap, so intimidating, but I suppose I should step outside my comfort zone, eh?
Thanks for the giveaway!
I would LOVE to win this book! Thank you for the chance. I am in lots of swaps and I love 'em all!
I would love to win this book.
I've only participated in one swap so far but I absolutely loved it. It was a cushion swap and I adore the cushion I got.
I love swaps and bee's, and I love all the ones I've done. The favourite thing I've received is the mini quit from Ochil Lynz it was so personal and perfect.
That looks like a wonderful book!

I'd love to win a copy! I've been in a few swaps and right now I'm in 3 Bee's from Flickr - really good fun!
I just posted a sneaky peek on my blog of the doll quilt I'm making for the swap I am in now. I have been in a few. I did the same DQS last year, and I have been in a bag swap as well as a potholder pass and a pincushion pass. All were great fun. I would love to win this book. It looks like there are some great ideas in there.
This book is on my wishlist already.
The book sounds really interesting and I'd love to own it. Thanks for the opportunity to win it. I've participated in several swaps but one of my favorites is the "Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap. "
Oh, I've got this book in my wish list. I've done some single block swaps in the past, but next year I'm signed up for a 12 month bee and I can't wait!!
I'd love to win. I have never done a swap.
I want I want I want! thanks so much for this give away! and good luck to all.
This book looks amazing, I would love to win a copy. I love swaps, my favourite at the moment is the decorations swaps but cookies and cream had a scissor keep swap a while ago and I got the best keep ever - beautiful embroidery for big scissors and a needle holder in the same design.
I haven't had the guts yet to do a swap but would like to. This book might be just the thing to get me started! Thanks for the giveaway.

I have never participated in a swap before.Winning this book would be a great way to start one among my quilting friends!
I'd like to win. I participate in the Block Swap Adventure. It has been good for the most part. I have only had one partner that did not send me a block this year. I received several BEAUTIFUL blocks from some very talented quilters. I have also had to learn how to make a 12" finished block. That was a challenge at first. I love the new skills I am learning when someone requests something special. Thanks or the giveaway -- wow, scraps too. Woohoo!
I've never joined a swap but it sounds like a lot of fun!
I've only done swaps in person, online sounds like fun too. Thanks for the chance to win, looks like a great book!
I never participate in swaps, as I don't feel like my quilting is as good as everyone elses yet. I'm still trying to learn.

It's so fun to connect with people from all over the country-- even world-- and share your talents! :-) Probably my favorite swap was a birthday swap, where 12 of us each sent the other participants a block of their choice (pattern & color) on their birthday! I love all the blocks I received and cherish them! :-)

Looks awesome! I've never swapped before, but I'm ready to try. Thanks for the chance.

I'm fairly new to quilting and have never been in a swap. I love the quilts that you have showcased from the book. Please include me for a chance to win this book and scraps.
I've never been part of a swap, but have always wanted to. I love the "Modern Bee" book, and am looking forward to this book also. I think that in my Christmas letter this year I'm going to ask whether anyone wants to participate in a block swap. Who knows? I might find out that the wife of one of my sweetheart's co-workers or cousins or the husband of one of my childhood friends is a quilter!
Thanks for the giveaway and for another glimpse into a very appealing book.
I think that the curvy block quilt must be my fave. I'm trying to initiate a swap at my local guild...this book would be a perfect resource.
Just started quilting a couple of years ago and have not yet participated in a swap. From the looks of those quilts I should get to it. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
I've done a few swaps over the internet but none recently. I'd love to win this book to enthuse me again.
I know you should not read a book by it's cover...but this one had me at hello!! Thanks for the chance at this great book
I've done a block swap - my Tuesday night quilt group members all made log cabin blocks, mostly made with polka dot fabrics in very bright colors! I also super-sized the block and made a huge block, about 55" square, of leftover fabric!

The books looks pretty cool! Count me in, thanks!
Unfortunatelly, I had to go thru a pretty rough time in my life, so I had to cancel all swaps like DQS, mug rug swap and so on. I really miss all wonderful swappers from these groups.

I would love to win a copy of this book. I haven't participated in a block swap, just a 6 inch square swap. I loved it and am looking for another.
I have only ever done one swap & it was bit of a disaster!! Of the 10 blocks we each expected to recieve, after months of waiting only 5 turned up!! Bit disappointing really :( Anyhoo, this book looks the goods and I'd love to see it in my mailbox soon. Thanks Ryan!
I would love to win! I have never been in a quilt block swap before!

I would love a chance to win this book, I fall more in love with it with every post I read! I have only done one swap a few years ago for the "Dear Jane" international siggy swap. It was so fun to receive all those blocks in th mail, I would love to do many more!

I've participated in fabric swaps, strip swaps & block swaps. My favorite is a swap I do with a small online group I belong to in Washington State. We have about 35 members, and we make blocks about "things that remind of of Washington." I've got 2 sets of blocks now, so I can probably make 2 quilts, at least!
I love how creative people are! :)
I would love to win a copy! I've never done a swap and am fairly new to quilting. I'm learning lots from all the wonderful blogs online! Thanks!
I have never done a swap but I would love to do one. They sound like a lot of fun and a great way to make new friends. Congrats on the book.
I have made scrap quilts but never participated in a swap....what fun ideas. Love the wonky star quilt.
It would be a great help with a group I help at my church. We do a block exchange at Christmas with a
preselected fabric swatch, alot of fun! Thanks!
I have never participated in a swap but would love to do one soon. This book would gceryainly help me get one started. Rhianneholmes@hotmail.com
Yes! I have dived in the deep end and entered 3 swaps in the last month or two. 1..because I had the means and 2.. because if you don't act it goes past and you miss out and I feel ready to take the plunge and enjoy the benefits of sharing. It is a wonderful way to share and grow with others.
Toni-Anne:) Grace (at) amnet (dot) net (dot) au

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Please Mr.Random generator pick me. Happy Thanksgiving
I would love to win. I have participated in one swap n it was interesting. There was 11 of us n we all had to bring 72 Christmas squares (9 inch). We put them on top of a long table N lined up. We could only get one square from every pile and we went around the table until all fabric was gone. We had to get square on the top of each pile. We could trade later but not until all fabric was gone. We took the squares and made a quilt we had all decided earlier. All quilts were cute an.d different.
thanks Ryan - I'd love to win a copy of sew to swap but the best part would be the hand picked scraps from your basket ! and amazingly I've just this week joined in a scrap basket swap :) thanks for your generous giveaway

gustafson dot jenna at gmail dot com
I'd totally love to win this book. I'd not yet participated in any "project" swaps (just swapping fabrics), but that could be my new year's resolution. Cheers!
I would love to win this book, I am an amateur sewer so I haven't been in any swaps yet. I am also a full time mummy to a 15 month old daughter so I don't get a great deal of time to stitch or have much control over the time I get. Would like to try doing one in the new year though.
Would love some of that scrap stash too - all the things I could do with those yummy fabrics, I am salivating : )
This looks a great book! I've never been involved in a swap!
Fun book. Like a journal of your swap and fun for us too.
I would love to win that fantastic book! I have never participated in a swap, but it looks like a lot of fun!
I would love to win the book! I have done swaps where we all decided on a particular theme and then each made a block for all participants. They were so much fun to see what everyone came up with. My favorite was an Angel swap, where everyone made a different angel. Very cute!
I would love to win this great book:)
I learned a lot thru swaps and found online friends. My favorite is Pillow Talk Swap, but all the time some new kinds of swaps are popping around and I've always need to participate at least for one round:)
Is it too late for the giveaway? I've never done a swap but it sounds like fun!
Would love to win a copy! The quilt blocks are so creative. Have done several swaps but not a block swap. Love the way they all come together when made into a quilt.
I haven't seen a winner posted yet, so I'm commenting on the off chance this hasn't been closed yet. I participated in my first Bee/swap this year - Let's Bee Together. It has been great fun playing with other people's fabrics, many of which I have nothing like in my own stash. Plus, it has built my confidence a bit in my own abilities, seeing how my blocks are received and checking out what others make.
Would love to win the book and some scraps. I have never participated in a swap. Not good at deadlines. Thanks for the chance. dorthac@aol.com
I would love to win this book! The photos are a great inspiration. I have participated in bowties swaps on several Yahoo groups. It was always fun when you got a package in the mail! I have a finished king-size quilt with over 300 different fabrics in it. Thank you for the giveaway!
What a great idea for a new book. Would love to win this one. have only done one swap before and it was for a charm quilt.
