Inspired By: A Baby Quilt Project

Have you ever come across a quilt online and just had to make it?  Something about the design or color just spoke to you?

I recently pinned a photo on pinterest of a baby quilt using teal, lime, black & white fabrics.  The design immediately caught my eye.  After doing a little research, I discovered the photo was taken by the talented quilting blogger, Liz Brown.  I also found a post that mentions the quilt here.

Liz assembled this quilt last year.  She was inspired by a quilt posted on the zuzuberry blog.  I encourage you to read about the design by clicking here.

I always like to have several baby quilts in the studio ready to go for gifting in a pinch, so I started pulling fabrics Sunday.

A quick iron and cutting of 5 inch squares resulted in this layout in just a few hours.
I posted these photos on instagram and within several minutes they got over 231 likes combined!  I guess I’m not the only one who thinks this color scheme and layout looks sharp!  With all the attention I thought I’d better give credit where credit is due and let you all know what helped me inspire the quilt process.  Again, please check out the links I highlighted in the above paragraphs.
Hopefully, I should have this one finished for gifting by this weekend!
If you are interested in making your own baby quilt a great place to start is with a quilting kit. You can find some very cute ones at Craftsy here.
